Title:The business impact of integrated manufacturing execution system and enterprise resource planning solution
Abstract:The master's thesis provides a comprehensive insight into the integration of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and their impact on organizational operations. The research successfully achieved its objectives and presented various aspects of integration, including functionalities, architecture, advantages, disadvantages, vendors, and trends in the world of ERP and MES solutions. The emphasis was on the concept of connecting MES and ERP solutions, where the study demonstrated that this integration can significantly improve operational efficiency, data accuracy, and overall productivity of organizations. The research also examines the crucial role of critical success factors in the successful implementation of an integrated MES and ERP system. Thorough understanding of these factors significantly influences the efficiency of the integration project. Factors such as top management support, well-defined objectives, alignment of business processes, employee readiness, and effective communication are crucial for achieving desired outcomes. The research results indicate that the implementation of an integrated MES and ERP system indeed enhances business operations.
