Abstract:V diplomskem delu sta predstavljena razvoj knjižnega medija in definicija, kaj vse danes uvrščamo med knjige.

Title:The influence of the book medium in english language on foreign speaking readers
Abstract:The thesis presents the development of the book medium and defines what is considered as books today. It highlights the importance of storytelling and narratives, which greatly influence the shaping and development of individuals. The advantages of reading as an activity for learning, entertainment, and cultural exchange are emphasized. An analysis of reading habits in Slovenia is provided, as well as the impact of literature in the English language on domestic readers. Nearly half of the young population prefers reading books in English rather than in Slovenian. The most commonly cited reasons include finding it easier to read in English and the assistance it provides in language learning. A minor analysis of globalization on the domestic book market is also conducted. Bookstores are increasingly selling a wider range of books in English, which, with their accessibility and low prices, are slowly replacing books in Slovenian.
