Abstract:Naraščajoča uporaba plastičnih izdelkov za enkratno uporabo predstavlja vedno večji problem v vseh panogah.

Title:Problems of handling plastic packaging from agricultural activity
Abstract:The increasing use of single-use plastic products is a growing problem in all industries. Agriculture also faces this problem. The collection of this type of plastic waste in agriculture is only regulated in a few countries. Such an example is the use of foil for silage (agro-stretch foil), which has become widespreaded in recent years. Agricultural plastic waste is classified as non-municipal waste, which is the responsibility of the producer himself. In no way should we allow such waste to end up in wild landfills or to be burned freely in nature due to a disorganized waste collection system and due to carelessness. Doing so has a huge negative environmental impact. Unregulated collection of this type of agricultural waste has been a worldwide problem for many years. Even in Slovenia, especially in the past, many people decided to dispose of this waste incorrectly. Despite the negative environmental impact that agricultural film has, it is also extremely important for the development of agriculture. Therefore, it is necessary to follow the second priority of the waste management hierarchy, which dictates the recycling of waste to the greatest extent possible. Based on two interviews, we learned that a new Slovenian model for collecting agricultural film EIP Recikel is being established. The collection model works on the principle of a win-win scheme, which connects and creates a circle between waste and new agricultural film. In this way, the model is economically interesting for farmers and at the same time environmentally efficient, which is why we assess it as successful.
Keywords:agricultural plastic, circular economy, agricultural film, recycling, waste collection scheme.
