Abstract:	Ekološko kmetijstvo pridela visoko kakovostno in varno hrano, prispeva pa tudi k zagotavljanju javnih dobrin ter k ohranjanju in varovanju celotnega okolja. Ekološka živila postajajo vedno pomembnejši del v svetovnem prostoru, saj potrošniki dajejo vedno več poudarka na kakovost hrane. V šolah in vrtcih so se po nekaterih državah ekološka živila že uveljavila, v Sloveniji pa na tem področju še rastemo. Namen diplomskega dela je, da se v javnih zavodih spremeni poznavanje ekoloških živil in poveča uporaba le teh v prehrano zaposlenih in uporabnikov. Razloga, za kaj ne vključujejo ekološke hrane v jedilnike, sta v večini bila visoka cena in pomanjkanje ponudnikov. Uporabniki v javnih zavodih v večini podpirajo uporabo ekoloških jedi, prav tako pa tudi organizatorji prehrane menijo, da so uporabniki zelo zadovoljni, saj jim je pomemben zdrav način prehranjevanja in boljši okus. Ker si odgovorni za nabavo prehrane želijo, da bi bilo več ozaveščanja na tem področju, predlagamo več izobraževanj, medsebojnih sodelovanj tudi z drugimi državami in večjo strokovno pomoč.

Title:	Organic food in public institutions in the upper podravje regiond
Abstract:	Organic farming produces high quality safe food, contributes to the provision of public goods and to the preservation and protection of the environment as a whole. Organic food is becoming an increasingly important part of the global landscape, as consumers place more and more emphasis on food quality. Organic food is already well established in schools and kindergartens in some countries, and in Slovenia, this facet of food production is still developing. The aim of this thesis is to change and increase the use of organic food in the diets of employees and consumers in public institutions. The reasons for not including organic food in menus were mostly high price and lack of providers. Consumers in public institutions are mostly in favour of organic food, and catering organisers also believe that the consumers are satisfied with the organic food, because they value a healthy way of eating and a better taste. As those responsible for food procurement would like to see more awareness-raising in this area, we suggest more training, cooperation with other countries and more technical assistance.
