Abstract:V diplomski nalogi je v teoretičnem delu predstavljen pomen plavanja in učenje plavalnih tehnik. V empiričnem delu so predstavljeni rezultati ocenjevanja plavalnih tehnik (prsno, kravl in hrbtno) in anketnega vprašalnika.

Title:Students' progress in learning basic swimming techniques in relation to their active lifestyle
Abstract:In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis, the importance of swimming and learning swimming techniques is presented. The second part of the theoretical part is related to the active lifestyle of the students. In the empirical part, the results of the evaluation of swimming techniques (breaststroke, front crawl and backstroke) and of the survey questionnaire are presented. At the swimming course, a sample of students from the Preschool Education study programme was assessed before and after the 15-hour course, and data on active lifestyle was obtained using the IPAQ questionnaire. The purpose of the research was to determine the progress of students in learning basic swimming techniques and the connection between progress in swimming knowledge and their active lifestyle. The calculation of the t-test for independent samples showed a statistically significant difference in the progress of swimming knowledge between the sexes only in the backstroke swimming technique (p < 0.001), in the front crawl technique there was a tendency (p = 0.095) in the progress of swimming knowledge between the sexes, while in the breaststroke swimming technique there was no statistically significant difference between the sexes in the progress of swimming skills (p = 0.842). The calculation of the Pearson correlation coefficient showed a negligible correlation (r = 0.139) between the progress of swimming skills and an active lifestyle.
