V teoretičnem delu so predstavljene splošne značilnosti časopisa Prijatel, urednik, posamezne rubrike, uporabljeni črkopis, jezik in pomen časopisa.

Title:Linguistic features of the Kratkočasnik section in the newspaper Prijatel (1878)
Abstract:The master's thesis entitled Linguistic features of the Kratkočasnik section in the newspaper Prijatel (1878) investigates the first Prekmurje newspaper published in Budapest under the editorship of Imre Agustić, at a time when a unified Slovene literary language was already being formed. At the same time, Prekmurje language was still being published. The aim of the master's thesis was to find out what was the linguistic image of the Kratkočasnik section, which contained jokes, often written in the form of dialogue. The theoretical part presents the general characteristics of the Prijatel newspaper, the editor, the individual sections, the typeface used, the language and the meaning of the newspaper. In the empirical part, using three preserved issues of the Prijatel newspaper from 1878, I first presented the contextual characteristics of the selected section and explained the humorous effects, and then analysed the orthographic, phonological, morphological, lexical and syntactic features of the Kratkočasnik section. This was done to examine if the texts were still written in literary Prekmurje language. I also checked the presence of the lexemes used in the Slovar stare knjižne prekmurščine (Dictionary of Old Literary Prekmurje language, Novak 2006), thus establishing the continuity of the use of typical Prekmurje vocabulary. On the basis of the original, I finally made a diplomatic and critical transcription of texts and an intra-linguistic translation into modern literary Slovenian language. This way, I prepared the texts for possible further research, and the translation also enabled their wider understanding.
