Abstract:Družinska podjetja imajo ključno vlogo v evropskem gospodarstvu, vendar se soočajo z izzivi v hitro spreminjajočem se okolju.

Title:Opportunities for collaboration of family businesses and startup companies on a practical example
Abstract:Family businesses play a key role in the European economy, but they face challenges in a rapidly changing environment. Globalization and digitization present family businesses with many challenges, as they must skillfully respond to the increasing complexity and rapid development of markets. Cooperation with startup companies is increasingly being recognized as a potential solution for facing these challenges. Cooperation with start-ups is very promising for corporations, but it remains unclear how feasible the decision to take this approach is for family businesses due to their specific characteristics, such as risk aversion, reluctance to invest in innovation purposes, long-term orientation and reluctance to cooperate. Despite the different characteristics of family businesses, family businesses increasingly recognize the importance of cooperation with new companies for innovation. The future of family businesses can be strengthened by collaborating with startup companies, which promises innovative solutions for both parties. This is also confirmed by the analysis of a practical case, which showed that cooperation brings benefits to both family businesses and startups. Based on these findings, we propose the expansion of such partnerships, which could increase the diversity of ideas and competitiveness and stimulate dynamic development in the industries where companies operate, thereby improving services for users. The diploma work consists of two parts, namely theoretical and practical work. In the first or theoretical part, we presented the fundamental concepts of cooperation between companies, such as forms of cooperation, innovations as a result of cooperation, success factors for cooperation and risks that may arise during cooperation; the impact of cooperation on family and startup companies is presented in more detail. In the second or practical part, based on the written theory, we presented a practical example of influence or cooperation opportunities of a family business with startup companies.
Keywords:Family business, startup, collaboration, innovations.
