Abstract:Magistrsko delo obravnava izboljšanje napetostnega profila v realnem distribucijskem omrežju s poudarkom na uporabi baterijskega hranilnika energije (BHE).

Title:Optimal size and location of battery storage system for improved voltage profile in distribution networks
Abstract:The master's thesis addresses the improvement of voltage profile in a real distribution network, with an emphasis on the use of a battery storage system. Various battery storage technologies are introduced at the outset, including NMC, LTO, and LFP technology. Furthermore, the thesis provides a description of the topology of the considered network and the procedure for conducting metering measurements. The applied method for network modeling and simulation is also presented, involving power flow analysis using the Backward Forward Sweep (BFS) algorithm. The work is based on the assumption that the optimal location of the BSS is in the node of one LV feeder in which we need the minimum power of the BSS to maintain the voltage profile of all the nodes of this feeder within the set limits and that the optimal size of the BSS is the size of this very BSS. We start from this assumption when designing an algorithm that will select the optimal size and location of the BSS. The proposed method for finding the optimal location and size of BSS is evaluated, presenting the results of voltage conditions in the network with and without the use of BSS. The concluding finding suggests the effectiveness of the proposed solution for improving the voltage profile in the distribution network which is under the jurisdiction of Elektro Maribor d.d..
