Abstract:Uvod: Zdravstveni dispečerji imajo ključno vlogo pri zagotavljanju strokovne medicinske pomoči po telefonu, nudijo podporo in usmeritve kličočim v življenjsko ogrožajočih okoliščinah. Podatki so bili pridobljeni z vprašalnikom Sleep Quality Scale (SQS), ki smo jih nato obdelali in analizirali s programom IBM SPSS Statistics 29. Uporabili smo deskriptivno statistiko.

Title:Sleep quality of medical dispatchers
Abstract:Introduction: Medical dispatchers play a key role in providing professional medical assistance over the telephone, offering support and guidance to callers in life-threatening situations. Their sleep quality can be significantly affected by shift work, so the final thesis aimed to assess the sleep quality of medical dispatchers. Methods: In the theoretical part of the final paper, a descriptive methodology was used, while in the empirical part, a quantitative methodology was used. Data were collected using the Sleep Quality Scale (SQS) questionnaire, which were then processed and analysed using IBM SPSS Statistics 29. Descriptive statistics were used. Results: The questionnaire was answered by 59 medical dispatchers. The results showed that 30 (50,80 %) medical dispatchers rated their sleep quality as poor and 29 (49,20 %) as good. The Cronbach alpha of the questionnaire was 0,89. The highest rated item was I have a clear head after sleep (M = 1,81), and among the subscales was Daytime dysfunction (M = 9,86). Discussion and conclusion: Based on the results, we found that poor sleep quality was prevalent in the research. The selected topic is under-researched, so in the future, more research should be done on the sleep quality of medical dispatchers worldwide to improve the quality of sleep.
