Abstract:Magistrsko delo se osredotoča na postavitev in upravljanje virtualnih strežnikov z uporabo orodij Packer in Ansible. V magistrskem delu smo z orodji Packer in Ansible pokazali izboljšave v postavitvi in upravljanju virtualnih strežnikov, kar prinaša avtomatizacijo in večjo učinkovitost.

Title:Set up and management of a virtual server using Packer and Ansible tools
Abstract:In our master's thesis, we focused on how to set up and manage virtual servers using tools like Packer and Ansible. Our goal is to demonstrate an efficient way to automate and consistently manage virtual machines with a DevOps strategy. We also aimed to explore whether artificial intelligence could help us in preparing the program code for these tools. In the main section of our thesis, we started by creating a program code for Packer to make two virtual servers, and then we configured these servers using Ansible. We experimented with creating a code using artificial intelligence and compared it to our manually written code. The result of the thesis is a practical demonstration of using the mentioned tools and the benefits they bring. Moreover, we found out that artificial intelligence is a good helper in creating program code. In the master's thesis, we demonstrated improvements in the deployment and management of virtual servers using Packer and Ansible specifically, leading to increased automation and enhanced efficiency. Furthermore, we discovered that artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT 4, can assist in the creation of program code, though it currently has some limitations. If artificial intelligence keeps getting better, it could change the results of this thesis if it were written at a later time. Our master's thesis shows there are possibilities for more research and better use of these technologies.
