Vzporedno z navarjanjem s pravokotno oplaščeno elektrodo je potekalo primerjano navarjanje z okroglo oplaščeno elektrodo z enakim oplaščenjem in presekom kovinskega jedra. Navari so bili metalografsko pregledani z optičnim in SEM mikroskopom, na njih so bili izvedeni mehanski in lomno mehanski testi in testi obrabne obstojnosti.

Title:PRODUCTION AND ANALYSE OF NEW RUTILE COATED STICK ELECTRODE WITH RECTANGULAR SHAPE
Abstract:Arc cladding is a widely used process for the surface protection of new or degraded mechanical parts that are subjected to various wear mechanisms during their service life. Manual arc welding with coated stick electrode is widely used on field. Advantages of process is simple and portable equipment; process is possible to use in different weather conditions. Present work describes the development and production of new geometry stick electrode. Till now, all coated stick electrodes for manual arc welding were round shaped, with solid or tubular core in the middle. New developed stick coated electrode was rectangular shape. It was produced with two coatings. First was rutile, non-alloyed, according to norm EN ISO 2560-A, E 42 0 RR 12 , Rutilen 2000 S, second was rutile alloyed according to norm EN 14700 E Fe 8, E DUR 60 R. Both names are commercial names of Slovenian welding consumable producer SIJ Elektrode Jesenice d.o.o., partner in this project. Hardfacing with rectangular and two round shaped coated stick electrodes with same cross-section of metal core was done. Mechanical properties were investigated with mechanical and fracture mechanical tests, microhardness was measured, abrasion resistance test ware done. Samples were investigated with optical and SEM microscope. Test results shown that hardfaced welds with rectangular shaped coated electrode had much lower dilution rate, like with round one, the new product opens up many possibilities for further research in the future.
