Abstract:V zadnjem času opažamo izjemen porast prehoda iz fizičnega v digitalni svet prodaje. Magistrsko delo se bo osredotočalo na primerjavo nakupnega vedenja v spletni trgovini About You in Zalando. S pomočjo pregleda literature in z izvedbo empirične raziskave želimo prispevati k širšemu razumevanju spletnega nakupovanja in marketinških strategij v digitalnem okolju.

Title:Comparison of purchasing behavior in the online store About You and Zalando
Abstract:Recently, we have seen a remarkable increase in the shift from the physical to the digital world of sales. The early 2000s saw the emergence of several online stores, including the well-known eBay and Amazon, which literally took the world by storm and became important pioneers in the field of e-commerce. With the rapid advances in technology and internet connectivity, consumer buying habits have also started to change. Consumers started to visit physical stores less and less and use online stores more often. After all, they offered them greater time savings and a higher level of convenience because they could make purchases from the comfort of their armchairs. Online shopping has many advantages for the user, including 24-hour accessibility, easy price comparison, a large selection of products/services, many providers in one place, personalized offers, etc. Smartphones are nowadays considered to be an indispensable tool for online shopping because they allow the consumer to access products and make purchases anywhere and at any time. We also see a great advantage in cashless payment because it increases the speed of shopping and reduces the need to use physical money. A major problem we see with online shopping is the protection of personal data because the use of such shopping applications also increases the amount of personal data. Therefore, the risk of misuse of personal data is increasing. There is also an increase in fake websites, identity theft, fraudulent transactions, etc. The master thesis will focus on a comparison of purchasing behavior in the About You and Zalando online stores. We want to find out what the key factors influencing consumer behavior in these online shops are and identify the key differences between them. The thesis aims to examine aspects of online shopping, such as user experience, the role of social networks and influencers, key performance indicators (KPIs), the importance of consumer segmentation, etc. Through a literature review and by conducting empirical research, we aim to contribute to a broader understanding of online shopping and marketing strategies in the digital environment.
