Iskanje je potekalo v podatkovnih bazah Cochrane Library, Sage Journals, PubMed in CINAHL Ultimate (EBSCOhost). Postopek pregleda literature smo prikazali s PRISMA diagramom. Vključene raziskave smo prikazali v evalvacijski tabeli in jih razvrstili s pomočjo hierarhije dokazov v nivoje. Izvedli smo kritično oceno po JBI. S sintezno tabelo smo opisno prikazali izide raziskav. Rezultati: V končni pregled in analizo smo vključili sedem člankov.

Title:Effectiveness of Ginger for Pain Relief in Women with Primary Dysmenorrhea
Abstract:Introduction: Primary dysmenorrhea is a common problem in women characterized by pain. The literature describes the positive effects of using ginger for osteoarthritis, anxiety in burn patients, inflammatory response during cardiorespiratory exercise. Therefore, the purpose of the final work was to investigate the effectiveness of ginger for pain relief in women with primary dysmenorrhea. Methods: We conducted a literature review. The search was conducted in the Cochrane Library, Sage Journals, PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate (EBSCOhost) databases. The literature review process was shown with a PRISMA diagram. The included studies were classified in an evaluation table and classified into levels using the hierarchy of evidence. We performed a critical assessment according to JBI. We descriptively presented the results of the research with a synthesis table. Results: We included seven articles in the final review and analysis. Of these, three belong to level one and four to level two according to the hierarchy of evidence. All articles report that ginger reduces the intensity of pain, but only two report a positive effect of ginger on the duration of pain in primary dysmenorrhea. Discussion and conclusion: We found that ginger is effective in relieving pain in primary dysmenorrhea. Its consumption reduces the intensity of pain and occasionally also shortens their duration. Compared to the pharmacological method of treatment, the consumption of ginger is safer, easier, and more affordable. However, there are few such studies to confirm this. Therefore, there is a tendency for additional research in this area to use ginger as a remedy for primary dysmenorrhea in everyday practice.
