Abstract:Magistrsko delo obravnava flavtista in pedagoga Marcela Moysa.

Title:Marcel Moyse and his opus for the flute
Abstract:The master's thesis examines the flutist and educator Marcel Moyse. The purpose is to study the musician's life, aspects, and teaching methods based on video recordings from flute seminars, interviews with various flutists about his life, and Trevor Wye's musical biography. One of the goals is to determine how Moyse's childhood influenced the creation of his études and his teaching methods. The thesis focuses on the interaction between Moyse's collections and methods, and the concepts of flute practice related to technique, articulation, tone creation, and production. The practical part of the thesis will consist of an analysis of two of his études. Within the research, the goal of each étude and the challenges individuals encounter while playing will be thoroughly examined. The collected data will then be applied to the practical performance of the études. The methodological work is based on archival research of the musician's life, analysis of the études, and practical performance. The research primarily relies on online sources obtained from an article in The Marcel Moyse Society Newsletter, edited by Marcel's descendant.
