Abstract:Namen diplomskega dela z naslovom Doseganje mejnikov gibalnega razvoja otrok v povezavi z obiskovanjem dodatnih gibalnih/športnih dejavnosti v starosti 6–8 let je bil preveriti, kdaj so otroci dosegli šest ključnih gibalnih mejnikov v razvoju motorike. Podatke smo zbirali s kvantitativno tehniko, uporabili smo deskriptivno in kavzalno neeksperimentalno metodo. V sklopu analize podatkov smo izvedli t-test in multivariatno analizo ANOVA.

Title:Achieving physical development milestones in children in connection with attending additional physical/sports activities at the age of 6–8
Abstract:The goal of the graduation thesis titled Achieving physical development milestones in children in connection with attending additional physical/sports activities at the age of 6–8 was to check when children reached six key motor milestones in motor skills development. The empirical study included a non-random sample from a specific population of 63 parents of children aged 6–8 years. Data were collected using quantitative technique, using descriptive and causal non-experimental methods. As part of the data analysis, we performed a t-test and a multivariate ANOVA analysis. Using a questionnaire, we found out at what age the children reached the physical milestones related to the set goals. We examined in more detail whether there are differences in reaching physical milestones between genders, between children with different numbers of siblings and whether there is a correlation between speed of reaching milestones and frequency of attending additional physical/sports activities. Our sample of subjects showed that gender has an influence on the speed at which motor milestones are reached. The research showed that the number of siblings does not affect the speed of reaching motor milestones. We also found that the speed of achieving motor milestones does not affect attendance at additional physical/sports activities and the frequency of their attendance.
