Abstract:V diplomski nalogi smo obravnavali številne vplive covida-19 na žensko podjetništvo v Evropi. Analizirali smo spremembe indeksa TEA podjetnic in podjetnikov v evropskih državah in ugotovili, da so bile podjetnice zaradi pandemije manj podjetniško aktivne v primerjavi s podjetniki.

Title:The impact of the covid-19 pandemic on female entrepreneurship in Europe
Abstract:In the thesis, we discussed the many impacts of covid-19 on female entrepreneurship in Europe. We analyzed changes in the TEA index of female and male entrepreneurs in European countries and found that female entrepreneurs were less entrepreneurially active compared to male entrepreneurs due to the pandemic. We investigated changes in the motivational reasons of female and male entrepreneurs in Europe and found that during the covid-19 period, female entrepreneurs were more inclined to entrepreneurship as a means of creating positive change in the world compared to male entrepreneurs. We analyzed the involvement of female and male entrepreneurs in the early stages of entrepreneurial activity in various sectors and found that in some sectors female entrepreneurs actually increased their share or maintained a stable share, while in other sectors they experienced a decrease. Therefore, the impact of the pandemic on female and male entrepreneurs depends on the sector, and it is not possible to unequivocally state that the pandemic affected female entrepreneurs more than male entrepreneurs. In the diploma thesis, among other things, we also analyzed the rate of closures of female and male entrepreneurs in Europe. We found that female entrepreneurs faced higher rates of business closures compared to male entrepreneurs during the covid-19 era. We studied the use of digital technology by female and male entrepreneurs in the early stages of entrepreneurial activity in 2021, and based on the analysis of the given data, we can summarize that, compared to male entrepreneurs, female entrepreneurs in the early stages of entrepreneurial activity perceived a lower degree of impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the use of digital technologies in 2021. Lastly, we were interested in the level of effectiveness of government measures for entrepreneurs in Europe who are in the early stages of entrepreneurial activities in the year 2020. We found that female entrepreneurs in the early stages of entrepreneurial activity perceived government measures as less effective compared to male entrepreneurs.
