Abstract:V našem magistrskem delu smo proučevali problematiko črnega ogljika, pomembnega onesnaževalca zraka, ki ga večinoma izločajo vozila z notranjim izgorevanjem in procesi gorenja biomase.

Title:The distribution of black carbon with respect to distance from the road
Abstract:In our master's thesis, we investigated the issue of black carbon, a major air pollutant mainly emitted by internal combustion vehicles and biomass burning processes. We concentrated on measuring its concentrations along a primary road (category R1), where levels were highest near the road. Measurements were taken at distances of 0, 20, 50, and 100 meters from the road. Our findings showed that black carbon concentrations peaked right next to the road and gradually decreased with distance. However, we noted unexpectedly high concentrations at 100 meters, sometimes even surpassing the baseline values. Traffic counts were also conducted to better understand the effect of traffic flow on black carbon levels. The results revealed high concentrations near roads, underscoring the significant impact of traffic on air pollution. The elevated concentrations at 100 meters were surprising, indicating the complexity of black carbon behavior in the environment, influenced by factors such as weather conditions, wind direction, topography, and vehicle content. Ongoing comprehensive research is crucial for better understanding the impact of traffic on air quality and developing effective measures to reduce black carbon emissions and improve environmental quality.
