Title:The integrity of sport is tested: doping and the impact of athletics
Abstract:The diploma "The Integrity of Sport is Tested: Doping and the Impact of Athletics" focuses on the issue of doping in sports, in particular in athletics, and explores its impact on the integrity of sports and athletes' awareness and perception of the use of banned substances. The research involves a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, including an anonymous online survey of 124 athletes from different disciplines, as well as an analysis of high-profile doping cases in the media and a literature review of anti-doping organizations. The results show that the integrity of sporting competitions is seriously compromised by doping and that the level of awareness among athletes of the dangers of doping is low. It is also concluded that anti-doping organizations play an important role in preventing doping. The views of athletes point to the need for improved awareness, more effective anti-doping measures, and stricter penalties for offenders. The conclusion of the thesis highlights the need to improve athletes' awareness of the dangers and consequences of doping and to strengthen anti-doping measures and penalties. It also suggests closer cooperation between sports organizations and anti-doping agencies to ensure a fair and healthy sporting climate.
