Abstract:V magistrskem delu je bilo podrobno proučeno pojavljanje prevar s pametnimi pogodbami in kriptovalutami.

Title:Smart contracts fraud
Abstract:In the master's thesis, the occurrence of fraud using smart contracts and cryptocurrencies was thoroughly examined. Financial fraud has accompanied humanity since at least the Middle Ages, when perpetrators exploited wars and posed as wealthy war captives to collect money from the unsuspecting. With the rise of the internet, these scams moved online, facilitated primarily by email and social networks. Initially, perpetrators were limited by the ability to transfer money from the victim to themselves. However, the emergence of cryptocurrencies, an invisible, virtual payment method enabled by the internet and computers, allowed for quick payments without supervisors or intermediaries. This innovation also led to the development of special programs called smart contracts. The research analyzed various types of fraud prevalent in the world of decentralized finance (DeFi). Particular emphasis was placed on the nature of smart contracts, their decentralized structure, and their susceptibility to misuse. It was found that smart contracts eliminate the need for intermediaries, allowing for direct and autonomous execution of contractual terms. However, the inherent dangers and vulnerabilities of these digital tools were also highlighted. The study identified specific fraudulent activities associated with smart contracts, such as the creation and sudden disappearance of projects, manipulation of coin supplies, and execution of hidden functions within contracts. The economic impacts of these frauds on individuals and broader financial systems were assessed. Case studies illustrating various scam techniques, such as Ponzi schemes and phishing attacks, were presented. The challenges in regulating and securing smart contracts due to the lack of standardized oversight were discussed. It was concluded that despite the significant advantages of smart contracts, their potential for exploitation necessitates thorough oversight and robust security measures
