Abstract:Tehnološki napredek in napredne raziskave so omogočili razvoj izjemno močnih in hitrih računalnikov. Predstavili smo področja uporabe, koristi in izzive implementacije umetne inteligence v podjetja. Poleg tega smo preučili evropski in slovenski zakonodajni okvir ter etične smernice za uporabo umetne inteligence. V aplikativnem delu smo s pomočjo dveh raziskav predstavili, v kolikšni meri podjetja v Evropski uniji in Sloveniji uporabljajo tehnologije umetne inteligence pri svojem poslovanju, in na podlagi tega naredili primerjavo Slovenije z Evropsko unijo.

Title:Use of artificial intelligence in companies - comparison of Slovenia with the European Union
Abstract:Technological advancements and cutting-edge research have enabled the development of extremely powerful and fast computers. Modern computers can process large amounts of data in a short time, which is crucial for the implementation of artificial intelligence. Integrating artificial intelligence technologies into businesses can significantly improve their operations. In the theoretical part of this thesis, we presented the definition, history, prevalence, and various types and technologies of artificial intelligence. We then focused on the use of artificial intelligence in businesses, outlining areas of application, benefits, and challenges of implementation. Additionally, we examined the European and Slovenian regulatory frameworks and ethical guidelines for AI use. In the research part, we conducted two studies to illustrate the extent to which companies in the European Union and Slovenia use artificial intelligence technologies in their operations, and based on this, we compared Slovenia with the European Union. Finally, we identified the main challenges of integrating AI technologies into businesses and provided recommendations for their use. We found that companies in Slovenia use artificial intelligence slightly above the European average. The use and purpose of different artificial intelligence technologies largely vary depending on the size and sector of the company. We also discovered that companies of different sizes face distinct challenges in implementing artificial intelligence technologies and that there is significant room for improving recommendations and support for businesses in this area.
