Title:Cost optimization in road transport
Abstract:The thesis addresses cost optimization in road transport through advanced technologies such as tracking, tachographs, and logistics programs, as well as the optimization of logistics processes, including planning, preparation, execution, delivery, and transport supervision. Road transport plays a significant role in today's logistics systems and supply chains by enabling the transport of people and goods. Despite its importance, transport companies face various problems, such as a lack of qualified labor and increasing costs due to rising toll and fuel prices. The main objective of the thesis is to examine and analyze the main cost drivers in road transport and evaluate how much each of these factors individually contributes to the total costs. The hypothesis that the main cost drivers are wages, vehicle maintenance, energy and fuel, and vehicle and route costs will be either confirmed or denied through a case study in which we will document the costs and conduct an analysis. The results, as well as how we minimized these costs to improve the efficiency and profitability of companies, will be described and explained at the end of our thesis, where we will also state whether the hypotheses were successfully confirmed or refuted, and justify our reasons.
Keywords:optimization, main cost drivers, logistics processes, profitability improvement
