Abstract:Diplomska naloga obravnava ekonomsko analizo življenjskega cikla proizvoda iz recikliranega najlona, pridobljenega iz odpadnih ribiških mrež. Čeprav so odpadne ribiške mreže odpadni material, njihova predelava predstavlja izziv, saj stroški predelave in proizvodnje sekundarnih surovin niso zanemarljivi.

Title:Economic life cycle assessment of a product from recycled nylon
Abstract:The thesis addresses an economic analysis of the product life cycle made from recycled nylon, derived from waste fishing nets. The main focus of the thesis is to examine the entire recycling process and to analyze the economic efficiency of the process. The analysis covers all the steps, from collecting waste fishing nets, through mechanical and thermomechanical processing, to final product manufacturing. Although waste fishing nets are considered waste material, their processing presents a challenge, as the costs of processing and producing secondary raw materials are not negligible. The most significant costs in the recycling process are associated with manual sorting and material separation, which is a crucial phase of the entire procedure. Nevertheless, it is clear that the recycling process of waste fishing nets has great potential, as it contributes to reduced use of raw materials and reduces ocean pollution, which is important from a sustainable development perspective. With the improvement of technologies and greater automation of the process, recycling costs could be significantly reduced, which would consequently improve the economic efficiency as well.
