Abstract:Diplomsko delo zajema opis postopkov iskanja idejnih rešitev, oblikovanja, izbire ustreznih komponent, sestavljanja in testiranja kontrolne priprave za ugotovitev prisotnosti in pravilnega položaja štirih matic na dveh zrcaljenih kosih s projekta EMMI.

Title:Development and construction of innovative fixtures for the EMMI project at B.N.M. company
Abstract:The thesis encompasses the description of processes involved in finding conceptual solutions, designing, selecting appropriate components, assembling, and finally testing a control device for determining the presence or correct position of four nuts on two mirrored parts from the EMMI project. In the first phase of the work, a method was explored that could achieve the set goals and effectively minimize the impact of human error on the production process. The idea for expanding the project, or for a simpler device to check nuts, which was recently developed by us, aimed for full automation of the process. The focus then shifted to modeling improved and customized structural components such as the "Workpiece Holder," "Sensor Tunnel," and more complex frameworks, as well as carefully selecting standard mechanical parts. During the design of these subassemblies, basic engineering calculations were performed, based on which necessary components such as pneumatic cylinders, directional valves, PLC, stepper motor with driver, and others were selected and ordered. The assembly was the most enjoyable part of the thesis, as it proved that all the effort put into the details during virtual modeling and planning paid off, with no significant issues arising in the final step. Before concluding, the PLC program was written, the device was tested, basic measurements were performed, and it was aesthetically refined.
