Title:Analysis of the issue of personal data protection in health organizations
Abstract:Introduction: In the master's thesis, we focused on the protection of personal data that employees encounter in healthcare organizations. In the age of digitalization there may be an increased risk of privacy violations, as individuals often unintentionally disclose more personal data than they think. Methods: We used a descriptive method of work, reviewing home and foreign literature with the help of analysis and other methods. We also reviewed 683 opinions of the Information Commissioner that were given from the adoption of the GDPR (25 May 2018) until the adoption of the ZVOP-2 (26 January 2023), which were classified into categories on the given topic. Results: After reviewing IP opinions, we found out that the highest number of opinions in a given period was made on the topic of COVID-19. Most opinions were given on the basis of the legal basis of the GDPR and the ZVOP-1. Discussion and conclusion: In order to protect personal data, it is necessary to establish certain rules that healthcare employees must follow in their work, as they come across with sensitive patient data in order to prevent possible abuses and violations.
