Abstract:	Diplomsko delo obravnava prometno varnost osnovnošolcev, s poudarkom na varnosti na poti do šole. V uvodnem delu so opredeljeni problem, cilji raziskave, teze, predpostavke in uporabljene metode raziskovanja. Glavni cilj raziskave je oceniti trenutne razmere prometne varnosti v okolici izbranih osnovnih šol in predlagati izboljšave za večjo varnost otrok. Raziskava se osredotoča na pomen prometne varnosti in vlogo različnih deležnikov, vključno z izobraževalnim sistemom. Obravnavan je tudi vpliv razvoja otroka na njegove varnostne potrebe in opravljena analiza varnosti otrok na poti do šole. V okviru raziskave je izvedena anketa med učenci treh osnovnih šol v Mariboru: OŠ Bojana Ilicha, OŠ Prežihovega Voranca in OŠ Toneta Čufarja. Cilj ankete je ugotoviti percepcijo varnosti med učenci in njihovimi starši ter oceniti obstoječo prometno infrastrukturo v okolici teh šol. Rezultati ankete so pokazali razlike v stopnji zaznane varnosti med različnimi šolami, kar je privedlo do primerjalne analize in oblikovanja predlogov za izboljšanje prometne varnosti. Med glavnimi ugotovitvami sta izpostavljeni potrebi po izboljšanju infrastrukture in večji ozaveščenosti učencev in staršev. Diplomsko delo zaključujemo s sklepom, kjer so povzeti glavni rezultati raziskave in podani konkretni predlogi za izboljšanje varnosti otrok na poti do šole.

Title:	Traffic safety of children on the way to school
Abstract:	The thesis addresses the traffic safety of primary school students, with a focus on safety on the way to school. The introduction defines the problem, research objectives, hypotheses, assumptions, and methods used in the study. The main objective of the research is to assess the current traffic safety conditions around selected primary schools and to propose improvements to enhance children's safety. The research emphasizes the importance of traffic safety and the role of various stakeholders, including the education system. It also considers the impact of child development on their safety needs and includes an analysis of the safety of children on their way to school. As part of the study, a survey was conducted among students from three primary schools in Maribor: Bojan Ilich Primary School, Prežihov Voranc Primary School, and Tone Čufar Primary School. The survey aimed to determine the perception of safety among students and their parents and to evaluate the existing traffic infrastructure around these schools. Survey results revealed differences in the perceived level of safety across the schools, leading to a comparative analysis and the formulation of suggestions for improving traffic safety. Among the main findings, the need for infrastructure improvements and greater awareness among students and parents stood out. The thesis concludes with a summary of the key research findings and provides specific recommendations for enhancing the safety of children on their way to school.
