Podatki so bili analizirani v Microsoft Excel in IBM SPSS Statistics.

Title:Awareness among young people about the meaning of testicular self-examination
Abstract:Introduction: Testicular cancer is generally rare but is the most common form of cancer in young men, particularly between the ages of 18 and 35. Awareness in terms of early diagnosis and treatment plays a crucial role, as delays in diagnosis can affect the outcome. Men's health outcomes are a global, regional, and national concern, as men tend to take greater risks with their health and are more likely to notice certain symptoms later. Methods: A survey was performed among 80 survey participants at two high schools – one offering a nursing program and the other construction and environmental studies. A questionnaire containing 14 open and closed questions was distributed in June 2024. The data was analyzed in Microsoft Excel and IBM SPSS Statistics. Results: The results showed that knowledge about testicular cancer and self-examination is comparable at both schools, but it is significantly better at the school with a focus on nursing. Students are well-informed about the symptoms, most regularly perform self-examination, and believe it contributes to the earlier detection of cancer. Those who do not perform self-examination feel they lack sufficient information and do not feel adequately trained. Discussion: Although testicular cancer cannot be avoided, regular self-examination enables earlier detection and reduces the impact. Students should be encouraged to discuss this topic more to increase their motivation. Despite our respondents' better awareness compared to foreign studies, students still seek additional knowledge. For men who pay less attention to their health, self-examination of the testicles is especially important for early detection of changes.
