Abstract:	Uvod: Vnetje srednjega ušesa je pogost razlog za obisk zdravnika pri otrocih, pogosto zahteva antibiotike. Timpanostomija, kirurški poseg za odvajanje tekočine iz srednjega ušesa, je običajna pri ponavljajočih se vnetjih. Priprava na operacijo vključuje psihološko in fizično pripravo otroka ter aktivno sodelovanje staršev, kar prispeva k uspešnejšemu izidu posega. Metode: V zaključnem delu smo pregledali in analizirali literaturo. Iskanje literature je potekalo v mednarodnih podatkovnih bazah PubMed, ScienceDirect in CINAHL Ultimate, kjer smo iskali s pomočjo iskalnega niza. Pridobljene podatke smo prefiltrirali s pomočjo izključitvenih in vključitvenih kriterijev. Celoten pregled smo predstavili v PRISMA diagramu. Vključene članke smo prikazali v evalvacijski tabeli. Pomembne podatke iz literature smo povzeli v tematski analizi. Rezultati: Končni rezultat zajema 9 ustreznih identificiranih virov, kjer se predvsem posvečajo psihični pripravi in manj fizični. Zaslediti je bilo tudi, da je medicinska sestra izvzeta iz priprave otroka na timpanostomijo in posledično zelo malo sodeluje pred, med in po izvedeni timpanostomiji. Glavno temo tematske analize »Priprava otroka na timpanostomijo« smo razdelili na tri teme sekundarnega nivoja ter na teme primarnega nivoja, ki smo jih poimenovali: »Psihična priprava otroka«, »Fizična/telesna priprava otroka«, »Zdravstveno vzgojno delo pred OP«, »Izguba sluha« in »Zdravstveno vzgojno delo po OP«. Razprava in zaključek: Priprava otroka na timpanostomijo vključuje psihološko in telesno pripravo ter zdravstveno vzgojno delo za starše. Raziskave kažejo na premalo vključevanja medicinskih sester, kar negativno vpliva na oskrbo otrok. Povečanje njihove vloge in izboljšanje komunikacije med zdravstvenimi delavci, starši in otroki bi zmanjšalo stres ter izboljšalo rezultate operacije.

Title:	Children preparation for tympanostomy
Abstract:	Introduction: Otitis media is a common reason for children to visit the doctor, often requires antibiotic. Tympanostomy, a surgical procedure to drain fluid from the middle ear ears, is common in recurrent inflammations. Preparation for surgery involves psychological and physical preparation of the child and the active participation of the parents, which contributes to greater success in the outcome of the intervention. Methods: We reviewed and analyzed the literature. The literature search was conducted in international databases PubMed, ScienceDirect and CINAHL Ultimate, where we searched using the search string. We filtered the obtained data using exclusion and inclusion criteria. We presented the entire review in a PRISMA diagram. The included articles were displayed in an evaluation table. Key data from the literature were summarized in a thematic analysis. Results: The result covers 9 relevant identified sources, where mainly they devote to mental preparation and less to physical. It was also seen that the nurse is excluded from the preparation of the child for tympanostomy and as a result participates very little in making it successful performed tympanostomy. The main theme of the thematic analysis, "Preparation of the Child for Tympanostomy", was divided into three secondary-level themes and primary-level themes, which we named "Psychological preparation of the child", "Physical Preparation of the Child", "Health Education Work Before the OP", "Hearing Loss" and "Health Education Work After the OP." Discussion and conclusion: Preparing a child for tympanostomy includes psychological and physical training and health and educational work for parents. Research shows not enough the involvement of nurses, which has a negative impact on the care of children. Increasing their roles and improving communication between health professionals, parents and children would reduce stress and improved the results of surgery.
