Abstract:Instagram je postal eno glavnih promocijskih orodij.

Title:Visual communication on Instagram : the example of Slovenian tourist board and chosen Sloven destinations
Abstract:Instagram has become one of the main tools for destination promotion. To compete in a highly competitive market, destinations must stay aware of current trends and promotional content on Instagram. Successful destination promotion requires not only an understanding of how to promote the destination but, more importantly, knowledge of what content to promote. Promotional content must align with the preferences of tourists, i.e., the audience. To determine what to promote and understand audience preferences, we conducted a thematic analysis of Instagram posts by the Slovenian Tourist Organization (STO) and selected Slovenian destinations, along with a quantitative survey to capture respondents' preferences for certain types of content. We found that natural elements are the most frequently promoted on Instagram, with blue and green as the predominant colors in photos, and that nature-related subjects are the most commonly featured. Additionally, the survey revealed that respondents prefer natural heritage over cultural heritage, have a stronger preference for photos dominated by natural colors (blue and green) over other color schemes, favor photos from official sources over those from unofficial sources (UGC), and are more attracted to landscape photos without people. Based on these findings, we created a model for successful Instagram posting, which serves as a guide for destinations and tourism stakeholders to enhance their visual strategy.
