Abstract:Prometne nesreče predstavljalo velik družbeni problem, saj med drugim povzročajo visoke stroške zdravstvene oskrbe in izgube v produktivnosti.

Title:Detection of dangerous road sections in the Žalec Administrative Unit area by analyzing the locations of traffic accidents and data from the DRAJV application
Abstract:Traffic accidents pose a significant societal problem, leading to high healthcare costs and losses in productivity. Between 2021 and 2023, a total of 1,745 traffic accidents were recorded in the Žalec Administrative Unit. The main causes of these accidents included inappropriate speed, failure to yield, and inadequate safety distance. This thesis conducted an analysis of dangerous road sections in the Žalec Administrative Unit using data from traffic accidents and the DRAJV mobile application, which tracks users' driving habits. During the observed period, the DRAJV application recorded over 2.3 million speeding violations in the Žalec Administrative Unit. Data analysis revealed that speeding is one of the main risk factors for traffic accidents. Five hazardous road sections with a high density of traffic accidents and speeding violations were identified, including highway sections, regional roads, and areas near settlements. The analysis results highlight the need for targeted measures to improve traffic safety, such as installing speed cameras, improving traffic signals, and implementing physical measures to calm traffic. Further data collection and analysis are recommended for targeted planning of measures to reduce road traffic risks.
