Title:Factors of acceptance of non-invasive prenatal testing from the perspective of privacy and motivation to protect the child
Abstract:Over the years, much attention has been paid to the health of all living things, and while it is impossible to describe how important this area is, it is undoubtedly at the very top of the list of what is important for life. In the last years of the information age, personal data has also become the currency for paying for certain benefits. How much we are willing to pay or disclose and share with others and third parties is up to each individual. The issue of security is becoming an increasingly worrying topic. There is often a discrepancy between the desired protection and intimacy of data and the actual behaviour when it comes to situations where such data is needed (the privacy paradox). When it comes to the health of ourselves or our (future) children, many people are also prepared to cross the line to which they are willing to share sensitive data. Tremendous innovations in genetic diagnostics have helped to increase the reliability of prenatal testing, where the main desire is to obtain assurance that the foetus is healthy. The aim of this work is thus to review the state of trust, use, threats, safety and satisfaction in prenatal (pre-natal) pregnancy testing. The data for the survey/status check was obtained through a questionnaire, which respondents answered via social networks on the 1ka platform. The questionnaire consists of 19 segments and 69 questions or statements. The data collected was used to address (confirm, disconfirm or neither confirm nor disconfirm) the 17 hypotheses put forward. The results presented in the paper may not be the actual situation, as the number of responses was lower than initially anticipated. The message we want to get across with this work is the emphasis on the importance of protecting personal data.
