Abstract:V magistrskem delu je analizirano delovanje soproizvodnje toplote in električne energije v podjetju Pomurske mlekarne d.d.

Title:Efficiency calculation of the cogeneration system at Pomurske mlekarne d.d.
Abstract:In this master's thesis, the operation of combined heat and power (CHP) production at Pomurske mlekarne d.d was analyzed in detail. A gas turbine is used for electricity generation, while heat is recovered from flue gases using heat exchangers. The main objective of the research was to determine the thermal efficiency of the system under various operating parameters, such as the burner exhaust temperature, power output of the plant, and steam pressure from the evaporator. The results showed that the system's thermal efficiency ranged between 20% and 40%. It was confirmed that using a duct burner increases efficiency by further heating the flue gases and enhancing heat transfer. The gas power plant’s load itself did not significantly affect efficiency, as less natural gas is consumed at lower loads. The lowest efficiency was observed in cases where flue gas preheating was not performed. The overall system efficiency reached up to 70%, confirming the effective operation of the combined heat and power (CHP) system. The results contribute to optimizing system parameters and improving energy efficiency, which plays a significant role in sustainable resource management.
