Abstract:To magistrsko delo raziskuje odnos med ekonomijo delitve in sodobnimi poslovnimi modeli s prilagoditvijo Porterjevega okvira petih sil in vključitvijo dodatnega elementa: vladne intervencije. Ključne ugotovitve zagotavljajo dragocen vpogled v razvijajočo se naravo konkurenčnosti v panogi, podprte s podatkovno podprtimi trendi in vizualnimi predstavitvami preferenc vozil in dostopnosti javnega prevoza. S povezovanjem teoretičnih okvirov z empiričnimi podatki, , raziskava ponuja podrobno in poglobljeno analizo Porterjevih petih sil, posebej prilagojeno kompleksnostim ekonomije delitve, kar vodi do oblikovanja praktičnih strategij za podjetja za uspešno delovanje v dinamičnem in reguliranem okolju.

Title:The Sharing Economy and Business Models: A Contemporary Interpretation of Porter's Five Forces
Abstract:This thesis investigates the relationship between the sharing economy and modern business models by adapting Porter’s Five Forces framework to include an additional element: Governmental Interventions. As industries respond to disruptive innovations, particularly within the transportation sector, the sharing economy plays a pivotal role in transforming market dynamics. The study examines how companies such as Uber, which employs a platform-centric model, and traditional taxi services contend with shifting competition, consumer bargaining power, and regulatory environments. The addition of Governmental Interventions highlights the increasing importance of environmental regulations, safety issues, and policy frameworks in influencing competitive advantages and market entry barriers. Moreover, this thesis analyses the strategic implications of the sharing economy on market competition, distinguishing it from conventional industries while promoting new models of value creation and collaboration. A comprehensive examination of consumer behaviour reveals the complexities of user loyalty and switching behaviours, further explored through a comparative analysis of traditional and sharing-based business models. The key findings provide valuable insights into the evolving nature of industry rivalry, supported by data-driven trends and visual representations of vehicle preferences and public transportation accessibility. Integrating theoretical frameworks with empirical data, the research provides a detailed and in-depth analysis of Porter’s Five Forces, specifically tailored to the complexities of the sharing economy, ultimately leading to the development of practical strategies for businesses to succeed in this dynamic and regulated environment.
