Abstract:Koncept pametnega mesta postaja vedno bolj priljubljen pri reševanju najzahtevnejših urbanih problemov in spodbujanjem ekonomskega razvoja.

Title:Solutions for freight traffic in smart city systems in Slovenia
Abstract:The concept of a smart city is becoming increasingly popular as it proves its ability to solve the most complex urban problems and promote economic development. Since we operate in the field of freight traffic, our research focused particularly on key solutions for its successful implementation in Slovenian smart cities in connection with freight traffic. We first reviewed the literature on the success of integrating freight traffic into the smart city system in Slovenia, then we looked for examples in larger European cities and examined them in more detail. We compared these with Slovenian cities and investigated how they could be successfully implemented in our country and what would be required for their implementation. Solutions as use of electric and autonomous vehicles, smart delivery zones, and the optimization of traffic flows using advanced technologies and algorithms are key in nowadays. In Slovenia, the concept of smart cities is only beginning to develop, but there are already numerous examples showing the potential for the successful implementation of smart solutions, particularly in connection with freight logistics. City authorities in Slovenia, have already begun introducing certain smart elements, such as smart parking systems, digital traffic control, and infrastructure development for electric vehicles. However, Slovenia lags behind larger European cities that have already integrated advanced technologies for optimizing freight traffic.
