Abstract:Zaključno delo raziskuje uvedbo gorskega kolesarjenja kot turističnega produkta v specializirani kolesarski trgovini v gorenjski regiji. Opredeljuje neizkoriščen potencial kolesarske trgovine v počasi razvijajočem se kolesarskem turizmu v regiji. Naloga obravnava izzive, kot so nerazvita infrastruktura, neaktivne turistične organizacije in pomanjkanje lokalne podpore. Glavni cilji vključujejo izdelavo poslovnega načrta, ki bo kolesarski trgovini omogočil konkurenčno prednost, vzpostavitev globalne prepoznavnosti, spodbujanje sodelovanja med zainteresiranimi stranmi in razvoj celovitega, tržno usmerjenega turističnega produkta. Pričakovani rezultati vključujejo povečano konkurenčnost, prispevek h kolesarskemu turizmu v regiji, dobro strukturiran turistični produkt in načrt za sodelovanje z zainteresiranimi stranmi. Naloga preučuje koncepte kolesarjenja in turizma, analizira trenutno stanje turizma v alpski regiji in raziskuje pravni okvir za razvoj gorskega kolesarjenja v Sloveniji. Zaključuje se s predstavitvijo poslovne priložnosti za kolesarsko trgovino, orisom ciljnih skupin, marketinških strategij in podrobnim načrtom za razvoj in izvajanje turističnih paketov za gorsko kolesarjenje.

Title:Introducing mountain biking as a tourism product in a specialized bike shop
Abstract:This diploma thesis explores the introduction of mountain biking as a tourism product within a specialized bike shop in the Gorenjska region of Slovenia. It identifies the unexploited potential of the bike shop in the region's slow-developing cycling tourism sector. The thesis addresses challenges such as underdeveloped infrastructure, inactive tourism organizations and a lack of local support. The main goals include creating a business plan to give the bike shop a competitive edge, establishing global recognition, promoting cooperation among stakeholders, and developing a comprehensive, market-oriented tourism product. The anticipated results involve increased competitiveness, contributions to regional cycling tourism, a well-structured tourism product, and a plan for stakeholder collaboration. Methods used include literature reviews, comparative analysis and analysis of interviews and surveys. The research draws upon previous studies, the Enduro Trans Julius event, and the example of Graubünden, Switzerland, as a successful cycling tourism destination. The thesis examines the concepts of cycling and tourism, analyzes the current state of tourism in the Alpine region, and explores the legal framework for mountain biking in Slovenia. It concludes by presenting a business opportunity for the bike shop, outlining target groups, marketing strategies and a detailed plan for developing and implementing mountain biking tourism packages.
