Abstract:Izgorelost predstavlja pomemben izziv vseh zdravstvenih delavcev, še posebej zaposlenih v nujni medicinski pomoči. Znanstveno literaturo smo iskali ročno in v mednarodnih podatkovnih bazah, kot so: CINAHL, PubMed, Web of Science.

Title:The impact of burnout on the quality of life of employees in emergency medical care
Abstract:Burnout represents a significant challenge for all healthcare professionals, especially for those working in emergency medical care. Burnout is considered one of the key factors negatively affecting quality of life, as it reduces their mental and physical well-being and disrupts overall life balance. The aim of this thesis was to explore the impact of burnout on the quality of life of employees in emergency medical care. This thesis was based on a descriptive research method. Scientific literature was searched manually and through international databases such as CINAHL, PubMed, and Web of Science. The process of literature search was presented using a PRISMA diagram. A total of 6 articles were included in this thesis. Research findings indicate that burnout is highly prevalent in this professional group. Employees experiencing higher levels of burnout reported poorer mental and physical health, reduced sleep quality, and symptoms of depression. Additionally, burnout was associated with lower job satisfaction and an increased risk of safety-related incidents at work. Burnout has a significant impact on the lower quality of life of employees, which not only affects their well-being but also the safety of patients and the functioning of the entire healthcare system. Therefore, targeted strategies for burnout prevention are necessary, such as improving working conditions, providing psychological support, and ensuring a balanced workload.
