Metode: Uporabljen je bil sistematični pregled literature z metodo pregleda, analize in sinteze znanstvene literature. Članki so bili iskani v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, CINAHL, MEDLINE in SAGE. Raziskave so bile izvedene v štirih državah. Razprava in Zaključek: Paliativna oskrba se prilagaja individualnim potrebam in željam posameznika, saj njen glavni cilj ostaja izboljšanje kakovosti življenja in zagotavljanje udobja.

Title:Older people´s perceptions of palliative care in nursing home
Abstract:Introduction: Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families dealing with life-threatening problems and relieves suffering. The final work aims to determine how older people perceive palliative care in homes for the older people. Methods: We used a systematic literature review to review, analyse and synthesise scientific literature. Articles were searched in PubMed, CINAHL, MEDLINE and SAGE databases. The inclusion criteria we used were older people, palliative care in homes for older people, perceptions of palliative care, and quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods research. Results: Out of 606 articles, we included six articles in the research. The studies were conducted in four countries. We find that older people are not afraid of death and dying themselves but rather worry about the many losses they have experienced. Social relationships and communication, a sense of belonging, and a sense of physical and cognitive abilities are important to frail older people, as the loss of these causes a loss of independence and dignity. Discussion and conclusion: Palliative care is adapted to the individual needs and wishes of the individual, as its main goal remains to improve the quality of life and ensure comfort. In doing so, it considers the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of care to holistically support the individual in their situation.
