Abstract:Magistrska naloga celostno obravnava fenomen skladb slovenskih skladateljev za pikolo flavto v drugi polovici 20. in začetku 21. stoletja.

Title:Compositions of Slovene composers for the piccolo in the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century
Abstract:The Master's Thesis focuses on the phenomenon of compositions for the piccolo flute by Slovenian composers in the second half of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century. We mention 15 composers and 23 works, written for solo piccolo with or without piano or orchestral accompaniment, or for various chamber ensembles with piccolo flute. Our thesis primarily focuses on 7 composers and their works. We first introduce the composers Bojan Adamič and his 'Fičfirič', Uroš Krek and his 'Concertino za pikolo in orkester', and Uroš Rojek and '... za pikolistko'. We continue with Peter Kopač and his 'Sonatina za pikolo solo', Aldo Kumar and his 'Grafiti za pikolo in klavir', and conclude with Jaka Pucihar and his 'Piccolo Jazz' and Blaž Pucihar and his 'Piccolo Moods'. We also compare all the mentioned composers and their works, noting both similarities and differences. The selected composers and their works are classified into three groups based on common characteristics. The second part of our thesis shows the presence of the mentioned composers and their works within the pedagogical field. We can determine that the Slovenian literature for the piccolo flute not only includes a wide variety of works, but has also attracted international attention, while still being present within the Slovenian educational system.
