Abstract:Magistrsko delo raziskuje digitalno transformacijo procesov brezkontaktnega preverjanja osebe med postopkom sprejema nove stranke v sistem podjetja. V teoretičnem delu predstavimo zakonsko podlago, stanje procesa pred digitalizacijo in pričakovane učinke digitalne transformacije.

Title:Digital transformation of contactless customer onboarding in slovenia
Abstract:This master’s thesis investigates the digital transformation of contactless identity verification processes during the client onboarding process. The study focuses on a Slovenian company that restructured its processes in response to regulatory changes and a strategic aim to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs. The primary objective is to demonstrate that adopting advanced technologies for customer verification and due diligence represents a sound and beneficial decision—lowering costs, accelerating procedures, and enabling new business opportunities. The theoretical framework outlines the relevant legal background, the state of the onboarding process prior to digitalization, and the anticipated benefits of digital transformation. In the empirical part, a quantitative research method was employed to analyse customer attitudes toward contactless verification and relationship initiation, with the goal of assessing whether public sentiment favours the traditional or the newly implemented digital process. Findings provided by the company indicate that the digital transformation had a positive effect: operational costs decreased, and the approval rate of applications increased. Customer feedback reflects a favourable shift, further supported by a rise in account usage compared to pre-digitalization levels. However, the company also identified instances of customer dissatisfaction, suggesting that the process still requires further optimization. Based on the research outcomes, the thesis concludes that digital transformation is a strategically advantageous step for similar Slovenian companies seeking to offer their services to a global customer base.
