V domovih poskušajo upoštevati želje starostnikov, če to dopušča inštitucionalni red in dostopnost kadrov. Osnovna organizacijska shema prikazuje strnjen nabor informacij o domu bodočim stanovalcem in njihovim svojcem.

Title:Organizing the admission of an elderly person to a care home and their integration into the new environment
Abstract:The master's thesis is related to the process of admission of elderly people into the care home and their adaptation and integration into the new environment. We have briefly presented aging, social inclusion of the elderly and forms of assistance to the elderly. In the master's thesis, we focused on the home for the elderly. There are more and more old people and as a result more people need help with everyday tasks. In addition to care and support, the care home also offers social integration of the people who live there. In the empirical part, we have conducted three structured interviews, which were then coded openly and axially. We have written the obtained data, analysed it and written down the findings. We have found out that not all homes provide the same range of possible care. When submitting the application itself, they are using the criteria that condition enrolment in the home. If the application goes to the waiting list, the need for priority admission is taken into account before inviting the new candidate to the home. We have noted that prior to acceptance, an informative interview is essential for the elderly person and their relatives, where they receive all the information necessary to carry out the move. The right time for registration and admission to the care home is when the elderly person's independence declines, the need for help increases and illnesses appear. Elderly people who move into a care home in good health experience the home environment in a completely different way than those who arrive in a worse state. In the homes, they try to take into account the wishes of the elderly, as far as the institutional order and the availability of personnel. In the care homes, they also take care of the daily activities and they pay attention to residents who do not participate in activities or who are lonely. In the future, care homes want more time to dedicate to the elderly instead of administration and bureaucracy. They also want to increase the number of employees and integration in terms of intergenerational cooperation and cooperation with the local community. The studied topic led us to create a basic organizational chart for the reception and integration of new residents in the care home. We believe that the created scheme will benefit young people and newly employed people who will encounter work in care homes for the first time. Above all, the basic organizational chart shows a condensed set of information about the care home to future residents and their relatives.
