Title:Financial feasibility study for the purchase of a forage harvester
Abstract:The thesis discusses the investment in the purchase of a silage combine and the provision of silage services as a supplementary activity on the farm. The purpose of the research is to assess the economic viability of the investment and examine the key factors that influence its success. A financial analysis was conducted, which includes the calculation of costs, revenues and the payback period of the investment, as well as a survey among farmers to assess the demand for silage services. It was found that the interest in renting services with a silage combine in Podravje is very high, which confirms the potential for successful implementation of the investment. The key factors in choosing a provider were identified as the quality and accuracy of work and availability at the desired time, while the price was assessed as important, but not decisive. Based on financial calculations, it was found that the investment will be repaid in approximately 5.7 years, which confirms its economic feasibility. A SWOT analysis identified stable demand as a key opportunity, while high initial costs and the seasonal nature of the activity were highlighted as possible challenges. The findings can serve as a basis for strategic decisions regarding investments in agricultural machinery, and further research could be aimed at optimizing pricing policy and examining the impact of market fluctuations on investment profitability.
