Abstract:Namen zaključnega dela je ugotoviti, v kolikšni meri mladi uporabljajo tehnologijo virtualne resničnosti (VR) v nakupnem procesu in kako ocenjujejo učinek izkušnje turistične destinacije, doživete prek tehnologije VR, na odločitev o nakupu oziroma izbiro destinacije.

Title:Virtual reality experience and choice of travel destination
Abstract:The aim of this thesis is to determine the extent to which people use virtual reality (VR) technologies in the shopping process itself and what influence the VR experience has on the purchase decision or the choice of destination. In the sample of 104 young people aged 18-29 where we investigated the VR experience and destination choice, we adhere to the hypotheses that young tourists are not yet sufficiently familiar with VR technologies to use them when planning trips or as a substitute for travel; that young tourists consider it important to know what prior information and opinions they have about the destination when making decisions and choosing a destination; that young people believe that the use of VR positively influences their assessment of their knowledge about the destination; that young people believe that the use of VR technology in the purchasing process positively influences their opinion about the destination; that young people believe that the use of VR technology in the purchasing process positively influences the tourist’s purchase intention or choice of destination; and that most users of VR technology have already had a virtual experience related to tourism.
Keywords:virtual reality, purchasing behavior, destination choice, decision factors.
