Abstract:Diplomsko nalogo z naslovom Poimenovanje predmetov in živali pri slušnem in vidnem zaznavanju predšolskih otrok sestavljata teoretični in empirični del.

Title:Naming of Objects and Animals in Auditory and Visual Perception in Preschool Children’s
Abstract:The thesis titled Naming of Objects and Animals in Auditory and Visual Perception in Preschool Children consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part, the development of speech in children is presented, followed by the description of the characteristics of auditory and visual perception. The end of the theoretical part focuses on the distinction between interjection and noun. The empirical part presents the research on whether children more frequently use interjections in auditory or visual perception as well as up to what age interjections still occur in preschool children's naming of animals and objects. The data collection was conducted once with the use of a quantitative research method. Forty children, aged between 1 and 6, were included in the research (10 children from each group in a unit). For the purpose of the empirical part, we prepared the audio recordings and drew the pictures of the animals as well as the objects the children were asked to name. In this part, we also prepared the research questions and hypotheses, which were evaluated and were then either confirmed or rejected in the conclusion part of the thesis. The results of the testing show that children more frequently use interjections in auditory perception than in visual perception with the use of interjections being most common among children under the age of three.
