Abstract:V sklopu tehničnega in naravoslovnega dneva so učenci prek medpredmetnega povezovanja učnih predmetov spoznali mlin na Muri.

Title:Constructing a Wooden Model of a Floating Mill on the Mura River as Part of Science, Design and Technology Day in Primary School
Abstract:As part of as part of Science, Design and Technology Day in primary school students learned about the floating mill on the Mura River through interdisciplinary integration of various school subjects. The mill is an important cultural heritage element in the local area, making this experience especially valuable for them. During the Activity Days, students learned how the mill functions, what it is made of, and grasped its significance, both in the past and present. The Science, Design and Technology Day was carried out with fifth-grade students at the Beltinci Primary School. The students actively participated throughout the entire process of the Activity Days — from conceptualization and planning to the final evaluation. The evaluation, which included both the teacher’s reflection and the students’ feedback, indicated that the Science, Design and Technology Day had a positive impact on the students. Finding showed that the various activities successfully coincided with curricular objectives, which enhanced the students’ motivation as well as contributed to knowledge acquisition and comprehension. At the same time, it encouraged the development of cooperation skills. Furthermore, the students developed critical thinking, engaged in group problem-solving, and worked on improving their technical creativity and motor skills. The combination of technology, design and science-oriented contents thus proved to be an effective tool for acquiring and fostering knowledge in a practical and innovative way.
