Title:Evaluating user experience on NGO websites: A case study of association AED
Abstract:User experience represents the connection between digital products and end users and influences their way of using them. Research in the field of user experience is increasing, as the increasing number of digital products makes technology increasingly embedded in our everyday lives. Despite the growing trend of digitalization, most research in the field of user experience focuses primarily on consumer products. Websites of non-governmental organizations are often excluded from user experience research, as their websites do not focus on marketing physical or digital products to users but rather have a mainly informative meaning. In this research, we focus on the role of user experience on websites of non-governmental organizations, which we then define by analyzing the case of the Association AED. In the theoretical part, we define the dimensions and meaning of user experience, and different ways of evaluating user experience, then we review the literature on NGOs, their characteristics, challenges, roles, and their relationship with digital products, and what challenges they face in this area. As a result, we also investigate user experience and user satisfaction and their connection in previous studies. In the analysis of previous studies, we analyzed the connections between our selected input variables, user experience, and user satisfaction. In the practical part, based on the knowledge gained from the theoretical part, we identify four dimensions of the UX Honeycomb model. Based on the variables, we create a conceptual model, and a questionnaire intended for members of the AED Association . The results are analyzed using the PLS-SEM method. Despite previous research confirming the impact of the input variables that we predicted to affect the user experience, only the technical quality of the websites is statistically significant. Despite the general quality of the model, with the Forner-Locker algorithm we find that the questions, despite being taken and adapted from previously established research, are similar to each other. The model thus confirms our hypothesis about the interatomic relationship between user experience and user satisfaction.
