Trajnostni razvoj zadovoljuje potrebe sedanjosti brez ogrožanja prihodnjih generacij in vključuje zmanjšanje neenakosti, izkoreninjenje revščine, trajnostno upravljanje naravnih virov ter pravično gospodarsko rast. V diplomskem delu predstavljamo bistvene aktualne podatke o trajnostnih financah in odnosu študentov do trajnostnih financ. V raziskovalnem delu smo s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika analizirali odgovore študentov o njihovem odnosu do trajnostnih financ. V diplomskem delu smo si zastavili pet hipotez, ki smo jih ob preverjanju potrdili.

Title:Students' attitudes towards sustainable finance
Abstract:Extreme climate change, environmental and social problems require a focus on sustainable development as a key challenge of the 21st century. Sustainable development meets the needs of the present without compromising future generations and includes reducing inequalities, eradicating poverty, managing natural resources sustainably as well as achieving equitable economic growth. A green transition based on low-carbon solutions and a circular economy is the key to a sustainable society. Business models that integrate sustainability factors (environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors) are being promoted in the business world. The financial sector (to a greater extent: banks) has a key role to play in sustainable financing and integrating sustainable development into investment processes. Sustainable finance involves taking ESG considerations into account when making investment decisions. Studies to date have mainly looked at support for sustainable finance by companies and less by individuals. The ILRES survey of the Luxembourg public showed a lack of knowledge about sustainable finance but a strong interest in sustainable finance products. This underlines the need for more awareness and education in this area. The thesis aims to obtain up-to-date data on student’s attitudes towards sustainable finance. In this thesis, we present essential current data on sustainable finance and student's attitudes towards sustainable finance. In the empirical part of the thesis we analysed student's responses to their aattitudes towards sustainable finance, using a survey questionnaire. From the results of the research, we found out that only a minority of students are aware of the urgent need to adjust financial practices. Poor knowledge of sustainable finance was detected among the surveyed students, nut many of them show interest in gaining additional knowledge in this area. In the diploma thesis, we set five hypotheses, all of witch we confirmed upon verification.
