Metode: Izveden je bil sistematični pregled znanstvene literature z uporabo podatkovnih baz PubMed, CINAHL in Web of Science. V analizo so bile vključene kvalitativne raziskave, objavljene do marca 2025.

Title:Person-Centred care for older people living with dementia and their relatives
Abstract:Introduction: Due to the growing number of people with dementia and an ageing population, the need for high-quality, person-centred care is increasing. This thesis aimed to explore the experiences of older people with dementia and their caregivers regarding person-centred care, based on a literature review. Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted using PubMed, CINAHL, and Web of Science databases. The review included qualitative studies published up to March 2025. A narrative synthesis was used to analyse the experiences of people with dementia and their caregivers. Results: Fifteen qualitative studies from various countries were included. The findings show that person-centred care promotes dignity, safety, respectful communication, and involvement of relatives. Despite these benefits, systemic shortcomings often limit the quality of care. Discussion and Conclusion: Older adults with dementia and their caregivers appreciate care recognising individual needs, values, and identity. Respectful communication, meaningful relationships, and the role of caregivers as a connecting link are crucial, although often overlooked.
