Iskanje literature smo izvedli s pomočjo iskalnih nizov v mednarodnih podatkovnih bazah: PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate, Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, Web of Sciences in COBISS. Potek iskanja literature smo prikazali s PRISMA diagramom.

Title:Treating a low birth weight newborn and baby at home
Abstract:Introduction: Health during pregnancy, childbirth, and early childhood has a crucial impact on health in adulthood and serves as an indicator of population health. Despite a decline in recent years, the incidence of newborns and infants with low birth weight remains high. The purpose of this thesis is to explore the care provided to newborns and infants with low birth weight at home. Methods: A descriptive research method was used. Literature was searched using keyword combinations in international databases: PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate, Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, Web of Science, and COBISS. The literature search process was presented using a PRISMA diagram. A narrative approach was also applied, which allowed for a comprehensive understanding and interpretation of the collected data. Results: Out of 134 collected sources, 3 thematically relevant articles and 1 report were included in the final analysis. A registered nurse in community (patronage) nursing focuses on correctly implementing interventions to meet the basic needs of the newborn and infant (feeding, hygiene, sleep). Discussion and Conclusion: The preventive home visit program in community nursing serves as a mechanism for meeting the needs of the child and family, offering social support and linking them with healthcare services. Home visits, which follow carefully designed intervention protocols, have a positive impact on the health, growth, and development of children with low birth weight.
