Abstract:V zadnjih letih so inflacijska pričakovanja postala zelo pomemben makroekonomski indikator. Uporabili smo podatke različnih makroekonomskih indikatorjev (dejanska inflacija, industrijska proizvodnja, brezposelnost, gospodarska rast, investicije in potrošnja) in vsakega posebej primerjali z inflacijskimi pričakovanji. Ugotovili smo, da so inflacijska pričakovanja najbolj pozitivno povezana z dejansko inflacijo.

Title:INFLATION EXPECTATIONS AND ITS CONNECTION WITH INFLATION AND OTHER MACROECONOMIC INDICATORS
Abstract:In recent years, inflation expectations have become a very important macroeconomic indicator. In this thesis, we examine the relationship between inflation expectations, actual inflation and selected macroeconomic indicators in European Union countries. In the theoretical part, we first define inflation, how it is measured and its impact on the economy. We also presented the basic background to the formation of inflation expectations, the measurement of inflation expectations, and the impact of inflation expectations on the economy and the role they play in modern macroeconomic models. The empirical part of the thesis is based on a correlation analysis of data for the period 2015-2025. We analysed data for the EU-27 and six individual Member States (Slovenia, Estonia, Austria, Germany, Italy and France). We used data from different macroeconomic indicators (actual inflation, industrial production, unemployment, economic growth, investment and consumption) and compared each of them separately with inflation expectations. We found that inflation expectations are most positively correlated with actual inflation.
