Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava psihologijo vodenja in motivacije v športu s poudarkom na primerjalni analizi dveh nogometnih ekip z različnih kakovostnih ravni. Zaključki poudarjajo pomen psihološkega treninga, ustrezne komunikacije in razumevanja razvojnih faz športnikov. Priporočila vključujejo izobraževanje trenerjev o različnih vodstvenih slogih, izboljšanje psihološke podpore ter upoštevanje individualnih potreb igralcev za doseganje dolgoročnega športnega uspeha.

Title:Leadership and motivation in sports teams: a comparative analysis of successful and less successful teams
Abstract:The thesis explores the psychology of leadership and motivation in sport, focusing on a comparative analysis of two football teams from different competitive levels. The aim of the research was to determine how different coaching approaches to leadership and motivation affect team performance. A combination of qualitative and quantitative methods was used, including interviews with coaches and analysis of the teams' sports performance. The main findings indicate that more successful coaches tend to apply a combined leadership style (authoritarian-democratic) and adopt an individualized approach to player motivation, while less successful coaches more often rely on rigid or passive strategies. The conclusions highlight the importance of psychological training, effective communication, and an understanding of athletes’ developmental stages. The recommendations suggest educating coaches on various leadership styles, enhancing psychological support, and considering the individual needs of players to achieve long-term sporting success.
