Abstract:Namen diplomskega dela je bil preučiti vpliv starejših sorojencev na doseganje mejnikov gibalnega razvoja 1–2 leti starih otrok. V teoretičnem delu so bili predstavljeni gibalni razvoj in gibalne spretnosti otrok do 2. leta, mejniki gibalnega razvoja in vloga starejših sorojencev pri gibalnem razvoju otroka. Otroci z več starejšimi sorojenci so hitreje dosegli mejnik sedi, otroci z enim sorojencem pa so prej dosegli mejnike lazi, stoji ob opori, hodi ob opori, stoji samostojno in shodi.

Title:The role of older siblings in reaching motor development milestones in 1-2 year old children
Abstract:The aim of the thesis was to investigate the influence of older siblings on the reaching of motor development milestones in 1–2 year-old children. The theoretical part presented motor development and motor skills of children up to 2 years of age, motor development milestones and the role of older siblings in the motor development of the child. In the empirical part, the research results were presented, which include a non-randomised sample from a specific population of parents of children aged 1–2 years from six kindergarten units of the Municipality of Moravske Toplice. The data was collected using a quantitative technique, the measuring instrument was a questionnaire for parents. The t-test for independent samples was used for data analysis. The results showed that children with older siblings did not reach the motor milestones faster compared to children without siblings, the difference was not statistically significant (p > 0.05). Children with older siblings were found to reach the sit and crawl milestones faster, while children without siblings reached the stand-supported, walk-supported, stand-independently and walk-independently milestones earlier. There was also no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05) between children with one and more older siblings. Children with multiple older siblings reached the sit milestone faster, whereas children with one sibling reached the crawl, stand-supported, walk-supported, stand-independently and walk-independently milestones earlier.
